You’ve heard me sing the praises of Hive smart home products before, but this Fall they’ve really kicked it up a notch. For those of you who are new to Hive let me give you a quick rundown of what it is. Hive is a family of smart products and services that connect your home and make daily living a little easier. There are several options to choose from, beginning with the Hive Starter Plan at only $9.99 a month. Hive allows you to control your thermostat, lights and appliances from your smartphone. In addition to using the award-winning app to control this system, the technology also works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT.

Hive recently released two new products: The color-changing Hive Active Light and the Hive Camera. I’m obsessed with their new color-changing smart lightbulbs, which creates the perfect ambience for watching creepy horror flicks this Halloween! It sets the perfect thriller aesthetic. I’m going to have a party to watch the new Stranger Things season on Netflix and I know the color-changing Hive Active Light is going to take my Halloween decor to the next level. The great thing is, once Halloween is over, I can opt for a different setting.  You can adjust these smart bulbs for brightness and choose from 16 million colors. Yes, 16 million!

As I’ve mentioned before, my favorite thing about my Hive smart home plans is how much money and energy I save by controlling my Hive Active Lights remotely. Do you have spontaneous plans after work? Or are you going away for the holidays? You’ll always enter a bright home by switching your lights on from your smartphone. And Mimic Mode makes it look like your home when you’re not, throwing off potential intruders. Just replace your existing light bulb with a Hive Active Light and pair it with your Hive Hub.

The new Hive Camera keeps an eye on things at home when you can’t be there. It’s got live-streamed HD footage, two-way audio, and night vision so you can see what’s happening, from anywhere. Watch and zoom from your smartphone. It’s not just for security; the Hive Camera can also show you when your pet is getting into something. As a mom to two large dogs, now I can finally figure out which one has been chewing up my old running sneakers when I’m not home. The camera has a two-way audio feature too. It includes a 16GB memory card, which you can replace with up to 128GB.

The Hive Hub

Did you know that the number of burglaries rises during the holidays? While more than $2,000 in property loss is usually reported from these crimes, very few result in an arrest. You’ll reduce your chances of a becoming a victim with a few simple precautions, like automating your lights and appliances and using window and door sensors. Make it so that your TV turns on or that your lights dim at various times, and make sure an alarm sounds if someone tries to enter your home. (An astonishing 34% of burglars come in through the front door.) If your home is a target this year, you’ll have better chances of catching the burglar if you’ve got video of the crime. Hive can not only make your home more convenient but probably safer, too.

For a limited time, I’m partnering with Hive to give a 10% discount to all of my readers, by using my code: HIVEDANASIA10 Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity to keep your home LIT (quite literally) and safe this Fall!
